Our limbic system holds the key to our memories, emotions, and perceptions of the outside world. Through our olfactory system, we have a direct line to influencing this in a positive way via scent. Take an aromatic journey through the world of essential oils and discover which ones support excitatory neurotransmitters (like dopamine) and inhibitory neurotransmitters (like serotonin) naturally so that you can support your brain’s desire to maintain homeostasis. This class also includes a PDF version of the class workbook. Learn how you can use essential oils to help decrease your client’s stress level during session—as well as your own.

Developmental Psychology and our Chakra System

Sunday & Monday: May 3 & 4, 2020

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM MST

In this transformational class, you will walk away with the understanding of how your Chakra System is an energetic structure in which you can organize your life force. With this understanding, you will gain a new wisdom involving your defenses and needs, and learn how to restore balance—deepening your own healing process. If your outer world is to be transformed, it must begin within. If your inner world is to be transformed, it must be understood in light of the outer forces that have shaped it. The value of working with the chakra system is found in the understanding of when our inner and outer worlds reconnect, we become aligned—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically. You will be introduced to tools to help balance chakras, whether they are deficient or in excess, in addition to hands on placement.

What every Bodyworker needs to understand about Compassion Fatigue

Thursday, May 14, 2020

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM MST

The massage industry has already been proven to provide benefits as an adjunct to psychotherapy when working with mental health. As massage therapists, we are also considered a viable tool with pain management. Secondary traumatic stress, also known as compassion fatigue, is found within care-giving professions, including massage therapy. Working with our client's pain, whether that be mental or physical, can directly impact us in a negative way. Commonly described as, when helping hurts, it is important for the massage therapist to have an awareness of signs and symptoms before it is too late. After this class, you will have a thorough understanding Secondary Trauma Stress/Compassion Fatigue and be able to identify early signs and symptoms. We will also look at healthy ways to prevent burnout by integrating daily self-care and developing a new sense of resilience when working with those in pain.

Fee includes a PDF copy of the course book.
